The 2013 Police Unity Tour rolled into Warminster Township Friday May 10, 2013. The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty. The tour started out in northern New Jersey at 7:00am and arrived in Warminster around 12:20pm.

Hartsville Fire Co. was honored to pull their trucks out and cheered on some 300+ law enforcement officers and supporters as they traveled past the station. The tour was expected to arrive in Washington DC on Sunday.

Warminster Police Dept. hosted a rest stop for the riders before their journey to Center City Philadelphia.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in a number of planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
